Honors

My characters have been granted several nice honors by various other guys in the Emperor vs. Elector crowd.
Most of the guys who are given these happily post those honors on their blog, but I'm not sure how I can do this yet ...
I'll try to find out this week!

I have found the easiest way to add the award is to [1]save immage of award from the EvE site to a file on your computer [2]on layout of your site add a gadget for picture [3] add immage to the gadget
I am still new at this and lucked up on how to do it.

HI Arthur,

You'll find this easy to do, I think. First, you will need a picture of the award granted. The donor could send you a digital image by email or you could find a picture of the award on the donor's own web site (or another) and download it (right click on the image and save the file to your computer).

I see that you are using Blogger so the next step is to upload the image to your blog by signing to the blog, clicking on "Customize" (upper right of the blog page), which will open a page from which you can control the layout of the blog. You then clicking on the "Add a Gadget" button in the column to the right hand side of the page and select "Picture" in the menu of gadgets which will appear, probably five or six choices down. Yet another menu will open; with this one you can select the graphics file you have saved on your computer and in so doing upload it to your page. Note that you can also, in this menu, go directly to the image via the web, if you know the url address. I believe however that it is probably simpler to obtain a copy of the desired image, save it to your hard drive and work from there.

You can also add a title for the image (which will appear above the image) and a caption (which will appear below it, useful for explicative text) . If it is a large graphics file, you will need to shrink it to fit your page (click on the box at the bottom of the menu); you will know whether or not this is necessary when you save your changes and look at you blog.

It is in fact high time that Syldavia opened diplomatic relations with Frankszonia. The King wishes to confer upon the King of Frankszonia the The Most Ancient Order of the Black Pelican as a gesture of friendship between our countries and in recognition of the interest you have shown in Syldavia since it arrived at EvE. Hail, King Frankfurter! (The city of Klow reverberates with a cannon salute; old men cover their ears and curse, children stand agog, staring at the Koprow Castle and the shots of flame and smoke issuing from its walls! Banners fly in the breeze! Hurrah!).

You can find a picture of the Order of the Black Pelican on the Syldavia site; download it from there and upload it into a gadget on your site.

Cheers!

Jim

I agree, very easily done. Just save the image from my site to your my photos, then use the layout section on your site and upload the image to the gadget. Look forward to seeing all your well deserved awards...

Thanks guys!
I will try this in the next few weeks ... have to hunt around and find all the honors which were tossed my way ...
BTW, Frankfurter is the town ... the Hurtshog Stanken Fhartz von Frankfurter is a Duke (Herzog), as Frankfort in real history was the site for the ritual coronation of the Holy Roman Emperor, ... and I could make a purile joke from the title, I left his as less than a king (though the family appreciates the honor and hopes that the Empress, the Merry Teaser of the Wieners, isn't upset, LOL)

Hmnn, now I'll have to learn how to create my own award medals too, I guess ...

Good question! Where do people find these images of medals? I assume once you've found them you use image-editing software to add in the extra bits like the bluebear or tankard in the middle.

I used images from this site for the basis of the medals for Schwabia and Harzburg. Using mspaint I modified them for my use. When I click on the medal for Flatsburg it goes to the site. I will go back to layout and add the address noting where I found my base images.
